Alberta Theatre Projects (ATP) has been a resident company since Werklund Centre opened its doors in 1985. ATP creates world-class, contemporary theatre from its home in Werklund Centre's Martha Cohen Theatre. A national leader in the development of new plays, ATP specializes in provocative contemporary works selected from the finest Canadian and international plays. They also commission and develop new works in-house. ATP explores thought-provoking themes of class, gender, and cultural perspectives in innovative productions that often make non-traditional use of their space, blurring the line between artist and audience.
